The Deloitte Foundation invest $670k in NABA to pilot a two-to-four-year business degree bridge program to develop a deeper understanding of key factors to help students successfully transfer from community colleges to HBCUs and to test methods and frameworks to activate them. This funding from the Deloitte Foundation will boost NABA’s capacity to work with HBCUs towards creating sustainable pathways for racially and ethnically diverse community college students to enter the accounting profession.
NABA, Inc., and the Center for Audit Quality (CAQ), a nonpartisan organization serving as the voice of U.S. public company auditors, entered a programmatic partnership centered on supporting community college students’ successful transition to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). CAQ’s investment of $1M over the next five years will provide holistic support, including resources to connect students with mentors and tutors, bolstering their successful progression from two-year to four-year accounting programs.
The collective efforts to diversify the accounting profession and increase the number of Black Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) are steadily improving. Becker, an education partner to the world's top accountants and firms, and NABA Inc., today announced their strategic partnership, aligned with NABA's revamp of CPA Bound, a program dedicated to further creating and equipping a growing community of Black CPA candidates and CPAs. Becker has been appointed the exclusive CPA exam review provider for CPA Bound.
Financial Executives International (FEI) and the NABA entered a strategic partnership focused on the professional development of future finance leaders. Through this partnership, NABA members will be provided a subscription to FEI Engage, the only community and content hub for career development focused strictly on finance and accounting. FEI Engage will increase NABA members’ ability to connect with an expanded finance network and tap into the wisdom of experienced financial professionals for learning, development, and career advancement.
NABA and CLA partner to accelerate the recruitment of Black individuals, increase workforce diversity, expand the organization’s pool of talent, and improve the representation of Black individuals within the accounting profession, which currently stands at only 5,000 out of 650,000 CPAs in the United States.
